Visit records your pediatrician appointment with your doctor's permission, shows live captions while they talk, and turns their instructions into a plain-language recap you can review at home.
Start a Visit session
Tap Visit in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap Record a visit now (for a same-day visit) or open an upcoming appointment and tap Start Visit.
Step 1 — Prepare
Review Visit details: confirm the provider, visit type, and child's name.
Check your Questions to ask agenda.
Read the consent script to your doctor before you tap record.
The consent script reads: "Hi [Provider], I use Kiri to help me keep track of [child]'s care. It can record our visit so I can review your instructions later and follow them correctly. Is that OK with you?"
Step 2 — Consent
If the doctor agrees, tap Doctor agreed — start recording. Kiri starts recording and shows live captions.
If the doctor declines, tap Doctor declined — notes only. You can still take notes and get a recap. See What if my doctor won't allow recording?
Step 3 — Record
A REC indicator and elapsed timer confirm the recording is active.
Live transcript text appears on screen as your doctor speaks and stabilizes a few moments later.
Tick off questions in the Questions panel as they come up.
Add a note mid-visit using Open notes.
Capture handouts or prescriptions using the camera icon.
Tap Stop recording when the visit ends.
Step 4 — Organize
Kiri transcribes the recording, extracts the key instructions, and drafts follow-up reminders. This usually takes less than a minute. You can add a private parent note while you wait, then continue to the recap.
Step 5 — Recap & save
Review your Key Things to Remember, set up any reminder drafts that feel useful, and tap Finish & save visit. The visit is saved to your child's record and available under Previous visits any time.
Requirements
Recording and live transcription require iOS 26 or later.
