Is my child’s data safe with Kiri?

Yes — your child’s personal data and photos are private.

Updated over a month ago

We take your family’s privacy seriously. Kiri is designed so your child’s journal entries and profile photos are private to you and the caregivers you invite. No one else can see them.

At the same time, we use aggregated and anonymized data (combined from many families) to improve Kiri and support research — but never in a way that identifies your child.

🔒 Your private data

  • Journal entries: Only you and the caregivers you invite can see them.

  • Profile images: These are protected and visible only to authorized users you choose.

  • Caregiver invites: Access is child-specific, so you’re always in control of who sees what.

📊 How We Use Aggregated, Anonymized Data

To make Kiri smarter and more helpful for families, we analyze aggregate data across users. This helps us identify broader patterns (like sleep trends or feeding routines) and improve Kiri’s features.

  • This data is de-identified — it cannot be used to identify your child.

  • We may share insights with trusted partners, such as researchers or pediatric health organizations, to support scientific understanding and innovation.

  • We do not share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

AI Model Training

To continually improve Kiri’s coaching and voice-based features, we may use anonymized data to train our internal AI models. This helps Kiri better understand patterns in child wellness, deliver more personalized insights, and respond more accurately to your voice inputs and journal entries.

  • These models are trained only on de-identified, aggregated data.

  • We do not use your voice recordings, images or journal content in a way that can be traced back to you or your child.

  • Your data is never sold or used to train third-party AI models.

💡 Why we do this

  • To improve Kiri’s features and make the app smarter for families.

  • To help contribute to broader knowledge about infant health and caregiving.

👉 Summary: Yes — your child’s journal entries and photos are private to you and your invited caregivers. Kiri may use anonymized, aggregated data for insights and research, but never in a way that identifies your child.
