How do I backdate an entry that happened earlier?

Easily adjust the time if you forgot to log right away.

Updated over a week ago

Yes. If something happened earlier and you are only logging it now, you can change the entry time before saving so it lands in the right place in your child's history.

How to backdate an entry

  • Start the entry the way you normally would.

  • Look for the timestamp text that says now.

  • Tap now to open the date and time picker.

  • Choose when the event actually happened, then save the entry.

What happens after you save

Kiri places the entry at the correct point in your child's history instead of leaving it at the current time. That keeps your timeline and Insights more accurate.

Good times to backdate

  • You were busy and could not log in the moment.

  • You are entering notes from daycare, another caregiver, or an appointment after the fact.

  • You are filling in part of the day from memory and want the order to stay correct.

Important note about timers

Live timers are for things happening right now. If you are logging something in the past, enter the best time or duration you know instead of expecting the timer controls to run as a live session.
