Kiri’s voice logging is a two-step process:
Speech to text on your device
When you tap the microphone, iOS does the first layer of speech recognition directly on your iPhone or iPad.
This turns your voice into text without leaving your device.
Understanding with Kiri’s AI in the cloud
The text is then sent securely to Kiri’s servers.
Our AI interprets what you said (e.g., whether it was a feed, a nap, or a growth measurement) and creates the right type of entry.
Because of this second step, an internet connection is required for voice logging to work.
What you can do offline
✅ Manual logging: You can still add feeds, sleep, diapers, activities, and growth metrics by hand.
✅ Automatic sync: Offline manual entries will sync across devices once you’re connected again.
👉 Summary: No — Kiri’s voice logging requires internet. iOS handles the speech-to-text part locally, but Kiri’s cloud AI needs a connection to correctly understand and categorize what you said.
