Can Kiri transcribe crying, feeding, or sleeping automatically?

Kiri listens to your voice commands, not your baby — logging is always in your control.

Updated over a month ago

Kiri does not automatically listen for or transcribe your baby’s sounds or activities. The app is designed to protect your family’s privacy and to keep you in control of what gets logged.

Here’s how it works today:

  • Voice logging: You tap the microphone and tell Kiri what happened. For example:

    • “Ella cried for 20 minutes.”

    • “Noah slept for 2 hours starting at 3pm.”

    • “Maya had a bottle at 7.”

  • Manual logging: If you prefer, you can add or adjust entries by hand.

  • No passive monitoring: Kiri doesn’t listen in the background, track sounds, or try to detect crying or feeding on its own.

This approach ensures:

  • Privacy & security — your microphone is only active when you tap the mic.

  • Accuracy — you decide what’s important to record.

  • Flexibility — you can log events whenever works best for you, in your own words.

👉 Summary: Kiri won’t auto-detect crying, feeding, or sleep. Instead, you stay in charge by logging with your voice or tapping in entries manually.
